Another technology offered by our DNA Analysis group is DNA fragment analysis. DNA fragment analysis is a useful tool to discriminate individuals from each other based on subtle differences (polymorphisms) in their DNA sequences. The VBI CLF also provides SNP analysis using the Affymetrix platform (please inquire for details).

These polymorphisms can result in DNA fragments that differ in size by a single to a few nucleotides. Using the ABI 3100 Genetic Analyzer equipped with a 36 cm capillary array, the CLF is able to process 16 fragment samples (of up to 500 bp in length) in 45 minutes.
