BLACKSBURG, Jan. 31, 2007 - The Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (VBI) at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University has released its fifth annual report. The annual report includes a special focus on pathogens and infectious diseases. The 2006 Annual Report includes research feature articles, highlights from the past fiscal year as well as articles on technology development and education and outreach. It also takes an in depth look at the transdisciplinary research projects underway at the Institute. The report concludes with a brief look to the future and a description of VBI activities in the National Capital Region.
